*sigh*

Hey all. So here's the news.
The Andrew Wagner tour is not happening, and I don't know if there's
going to be another one. I've been doing this for three years now;
four tours, almost a hundred shows, and to be honest, a lot of times
it just feels like self-flagellation driving to a show by myself,
performing alone, etc. I enjoy the challenge of playing these songs
live, but I'm in four other functioning bands, and it's hard to justify
spending what time I do have to tour and book shows on this when it's
just not as satisfying performancewise as playing a Shark & Bear or
Score One For the Fat Kid show. I've tried to push myself against this,
I've tried to tough it out, and I think it's time to hang it up.
Which is not to say the solo project is totally done with; rather,
I look forward to making a second record, and I think it's going to be
really great. I'm going to keep recording for compilations; I'm going to
be on several this year already. And I will continue the policy of playing
shows when I'm invited to play; but I'm tired of trying to convince
booking agents to give me a show at clubs with bands, so I'm pretty much
just going to play shows where a promoter/booker/friends' band/etc. invite
me to play. I'm sorry for those of you looking forward to another tour;
there will be Shark & Bear and likely Fat Kid tours this year, and maybe
even Bert will get out for a week, who knows. I appreciate everyone
who supported my touring alone, put me up, helped me do a show, etc.
And this year will bring a record that reflects my songwriting for the
last year and a half, and I think it will be a monumental step forward
from the first record. I'm still practicing up for it, and will start
recording it later this spring and into the summer for a late summer/
early fall release. Stay tuned for information about it, and thanks.
