This is one of Thom's, an homage to the sisters Wyrd from MacBeth,
along with pig races, expanding stars, and melting backbones.
Last night I went to the Guernsey County Fair
Bought myself a funnel cake that was larger than my head
I wished that you could have been there
But I went and watched the pig races instead
Today I sat in the graveyard on the hill
There was a time I could sit there when it rained
But you weren't there, and I was scared that throgh the silt
The zombies would climb up and eat my brain
When you're not here, my spine begins to melt
And my kneecaps plummet roughly to the sand
The spasmic memories of the happiness I felt
Were rivalled only by the shaking of my hand
Chance alligns us
Age defines us
Love confines us
Fate resigns us
We can thwart the Sisters Wyrd
You hold them down, I'll shave their beards
You know our sun, in seven billion years
Will grow to be one hundred times its size
And when its flame is singing our atmosphere
Will you still let me look into your eyes?
